How Carifly works in a dealership
Carifly follows one vehicle from purchase to ready for sale. Each step records who did what and when.
In development. Not yet open to new dealerships.
One vehicle, six steps
This is how a vehicle moves through Carifly after you have bought it.
-
Step 1
Record the purchase
Keep the vehicle on the stock register with its dossier, so arrival and prep have a place to sit.
-
Step 2
Receive and check on arrival
Check the VRM and VIN against what was expected, and record mileage, keys, documents and dated photos.
-
Step 3
Plan and complete preparation
Set jobs with an owner and due date, track blockers, and keep completion evidence with each job.
-
Step 4
Record costs as they happen
Enter itemised costs in pounds and pence with supplier, reference and date. Corrections stay as history.
-
Step 5
Review blockers and missing evidence
Check what is done, what is blocked and what evidence is missing. No percentage shows while checks are incomplete.
-
Step 6
An authorised person marks it ready
Only an authorised person can mark the vehicle ready. The decision records who, when and on what evidence.
Who it is designed for
Four roles are designed to share the same record, each with their own part to keep accurate.
Buyer or stock controller
Keeps the stock list accurate and sees where every vehicle stands after purchase.
Prep or workshop manager
Assigns preparation jobs, sets due dates and records blockers and evidence.
Forecourt staff
Checks what is ready, what is in preparation and what is still missing.
Accounts reader
Reviews itemised costs against each vehicle, with a visible correction history.

Questions dealers ask
Is Carifly available now?
No. Carifly is in active development and not yet open to new dealerships.
Does it replace my DMS?
Carifly is not a replacement for anything today; the first stage covers the journey from purchase to ready for sale.
Does it work on a phone?
Carifly works in a normal web browser on desktop and on a phone. There is no native phone app.
Is my data separate from other dealers?
Yes. Each dealership’s data is kept separate from every other dealership’s, enforced in the database. Access is by named user and role, and sign-in is for named staff only.
Who can mark a car ready?
Only an authorised person can mark a vehicle ready, and that decision is recorded with who, when and on what evidence.
